if nothing else their fan base is persistent...and nobody said they were going to win the league or make the playoffs this year...you did. But when you return a QB that ran-threw for nearly 2700 yards in 10 games, returning RB that didn't get alot of carries but did avg 5 yd a run, leading tackler, and the majority of their line that finished 5-5 last year they would have to be considered a wildcard. Point is if Ward can bring that together with his proven track record over the last 30+ years and get the team to buy into his approach and gameplan, and they stay healthy...a couple game improvement over last years record would not suprise me.
hey, everyones optimistic in August!

Rebels looked very good vs Salem Fri. the 13th at Crestview.Out scored them 5/6 td's to 1...Carter Hill still hard to bring down!!!Crestview "D" played great gettin 4/5 turnovers...Lot of hard hittin also. JV team also looked good for the Rebels. Salem has size up front on Off and Def and the QB is real big also.

Salem still in my opinion would be hard pressed to win the ITCL Upper.

Salem still in my opinion would be hard pressed to win the ITCL Upper. Salem could win it, but there are 5 schools they'd have to beat that would give them fits.

Salem still wishes they played in the Upper. The NBC will be a horror show for them, once this year's team graduates. Granted, last year was a stellar team and an excellent showing and this year could be the same, to a point.

Right now I am looking hard at these teams to win the Upper Tier: United, Crestview, Mineral Ridge, Springfield, Columbiana (if the forget about passing all the time and establish the running game.
One of the first four I mentioned are the favorites and Columbiana is also there IF THEY ESTABLISH THE RUN AND LEARN HOW TO TACKLE! Carter Hill and the Q-back from MR could be the pace-setters this year!

Looks like Coach Skrinjar and his staff did a real good job of having the Indians ready to play against the Bulldoags tonight. There was a few people on here who thought the Bulldogs would win because their head coach was far more experienced than coach Skrinjar and he would have his team better prepaired to win the game. No disrespect to the fine coach at East Palestine, because he probably did all he could to get his team ready for the game, but the game came down to Southern's athletes and a great game plan by the Indian's coaches. Simply put Southern Local was the better team tonight. Good luck to the Bulldogs the rest of the season. East Palestine's stadium is simply beautiful.

Im not sure if any of you watched the Mineral Ridge vs Campbell game last night on TV but what Ridge did against the Red Devils should be a scary sight for the teams in the league. Ridge is probably the fastest team in the league and that one two punch of Mike Keleman and Dan Skiba in the backfield is frightning. Lets not forget that they did that without one of there biggest playmakers and starting quarterback Jesse Garland who should be back in a week or two. This Ram team has potential to go 8-2 and even 9-1 as I think they will be the fastest team on the field any given night. The big plays Dan Skiba and Keleman had last night came against the best team they will face all year and the fastest team they faced all year. If they can work on not turning the ball over and there defense shores up a little bit they could be the real deal.

I beg to differ about the coaching having nothing to do with it, coaching has everthing to do with it. Southern Local has many, many underclassmen that play and contribute to the team. Two real quick things come to mind from that game where it was all about coaching was the two fake punts by Southern. You think that the kids just did that on their own. Maybe it was just luck and Southern's coaching staff just guessed and never picked up on that when they scouted the Bulldogs. I bet they never practiced them fake punts all week leading to the game. How about the weak side blitz that resulted in a safety Southern executed down near the endzone. I'm sure coach Skrinjar called that one to. Your statement about the Dogs being young is partly correct but I did count 7 seniors on the bulldog roster. The other part where you say coaching had nothing to do with it is completely wrong.
