Why? If you are thinking of moving schools around, then perhaps it should be McDonald and Western Reserve in the Upper based on the stregnth of their programs. Maybe Southern, but I don't think that would be wise for J-M. If your talking about moving for enrollment reason only, then yes those two might be edging past Lisbon and Springfield, but I don't know that the ITCL wants to move scholls around unless there is a sizable difference. Maybe I'm wrong, but thats my gut feeling.

Something is going to give soon. The difference between the three largest, in order: Ep, United and SR and the rest of the Upper is growing. Those 3 are the only ones with an almost equal amount of boy-girl ratio and all 3 are solidly etched yearly in the Upper. The others have a somewhat larger disparity in the ratio and are getting smaller. What will the league do if it has 13 schools that could be interchanged between the upper and lower? That is why I believe Salem, EL and Beaver might look to join the upper soon, not just yet, but in 4-5 years. Salem will not be able to compete in the NBC, nor will Beaver or EL want to continue traveling out of the county.

The numbers are unofficial until Feb.\March, but the realignment will be J-M & Southern up; Lisbon & Mineral Ridge down
I wish Salem, EL, & BL could get into the upper, but Crestview has tried to schedule Salem & EL to no avail. You might be right, 4-5 yrs. down the road.
Crestview is open week 3 in 2011, is Salem or EL?

I guess the league commissioner would know the enrollment numbers for the next census that is announced by the OHSAA in the spring, but I think they have to look at the competitive nature of the schools and league. The last post was a bit harsh in their view, but I think the Upper Tier would be too much for the Blue Jay program right now. In softball the Jays can compete, but unfortunately, in football and basketball I'm not so sure how fair it would be for the student/athletes at Jackson-Milton to be pushed into competition against the Crestview's, South Range's, Columbiana's, and United's of the Upper Tier.

Actually its Mineral Ridge and Lisbon down, Southern and Jackson up, its all enrollment numbers. Southern I can believe as they are a little bigger than Columbiana. Jackson Milton? I have a hard time with that. I can see Mickey D, just not Milton. Milton must have a huge enrollment surge to make the upper. I'd thought Columbiana would have dropped with Lisbon, not Ridge. Maybe Spaite will count right to stay in the upper? I guess we will see this coming spring.

Dog 74 you amaze me, you seem to continue to back up you statements.
What I seen also was a Campbell district that is overall smaller than the three Upper Big Boys. That could be an interesting invite for a Red Devil team to join the Upper Tier.

Only two teams that remotely could move up are Southern and Mickey D. The only TWO that could move down are Lisbon and Columbiana. Remember it is based on TOTAL ENROLLMENT!

Milton is moving up. Heard it from the their coaching staff today. Needless to say they were not excited about the move. I'm not sure about anyone else moving. Does a one or two loss team in the lower tier make the playoffs in D 5 ? Would depend on the OOC schedule, no?
