Being from EP and playing with most of them I won't try and rank them: JD Powers Zac Dunn Smitty Kendrew Brett Young Craig Ward Steve Clark Rob Clark Chris Clark Joe Thompson Adam Harvey What you named was the 2002 team...a team to remember. this team beat south range by 20, and dominated them. South Range went to the playoffs that year also..In D5...Ep has the title of the only D4 TCL team to ever make the playoffs.... And I see ghosts of that team this season....and it could be that Ep just might do it.....again...

South Range did not make the playoffs that year, 2002, at 7-3 with losses to Springfield, Loweville, and the aformentioned 24 point loss to the bulldogs in the opener. This is the only season that SR has not made the playoffs since 2000.

The top 5 players from South Range since 2001 are as followed by my opinion: 1. Steve Bensinger RB 2. David Rach WB 3. Kris Davis FB 4. Jason King (can't remember) 5. Jack Dawson QB

Ep lost to springfield the 2002 year. I think Springfield went 6-4 and made the playoffs. They were a great team but not the best in the 2001-200? era

Levi Leigh from Mineral Ridge is now In his sophomore year athletically at Florida University. He has yet to work his way into the starting lineup however is on the kickoff team. Even that is impressive.

Leigh was a great player with great speed! I mean he did win a state championship in the hurdles after all. I can remember him getting knocked out of the SR game his senior year early in the first half only to return the second half and help them score 21 points on what seemed like carry after carry between him and Micha Hall!!! I'm sure he will get in the lineup somewhere at some point, he is too good of an athlete not to!!

Being a South Range fan and watching all of these players play in their high school careers I would have to say, in no particular order that these few listed below were tremendous athletes Jack Dawson Steven Bensinger David Rach Greg Snyder Ben Johnston Jason King, Jeff Joghston and Brad Johnson
If i had a special teams player it would have to be John Willison as a punter and kicker. As far as return men i would have to say Steven Bensinger and Ryan Maxwell

Fan, as far as returners go, don't forget Justin Caroline. Probably the fastest amongst the group of names but lacked height. Great athlete in track!

The GREATEST season South Range has ever had, and the GREATEST team was the 2005 season some players of key: Steve Bensinger Kris Davis Matt Schlatter David Rach JC Willison Tom DeChellis and so many more... I am not a South Range fan, I actually dislike them for my own personal reasons, but to say the 2005 is the best team ever, well you might be too young. While the 2005 may have won more games and garnered more exposure than previous teams, they were not the best. The 2001 is better and so was the 1993 team with the best back I have ever seen, Toy. While these teams don't have the record that the '05 team has, there is hardly any comparison. The 2005 team were lead by their lineman, Chris Johnso(Center), Chris Allshouse(Guard), Alex Grantz(Tackle), and three year starters Greg Snyder (G) and Mike Geffert(T). The backs were not as special as people may think, Schallter was fast but couldn't run b/w the tackles and Davis couldn't take a hit, JMO. The passing game was overrated with Leskosky, but the Kicking game was phenomenal with Majernick and Willison, even thought JC should have saw more action than he did. The D was their strong point. Rach and Novak led the charge. The big lineman upfront once again ate blockers up for the LB to make plays. However, this team couldn't touch the '01 team that started Coburn, Manchester, White, Zwingler, Vizi, and Snyder upfront, with the likes of Johnson, Johnston, King, Sanders, Kimmel and Maxwell at the skill. I played two games against these kids and I hurt every time I carried the rock. The dropoff was very notable the year after they graduated as we finally beat them. JMO on things, but to say that the 2005 team was better than the 2001 team is dilusional, exceptional in their own right (2005), they wouldn't stay within two touchdowns of the 2001 team.

You do forget though, Dilusional. Back then, they played 4 or 5 Sebrings of today, and all they did was run every play just to get better stats. ARE YOU KIDDING ME THAT KRIS DAVIS COULDN'T TAKE A HIT? HE BROKE RECORDS IN LIFTING! HE RAN A 4.42 40 and was probably the smallest, fastest TRUCK ANYONE has ever seen from SR. It took half of the team, NO JOKE to take him down. most of the time he wouldn't go down. the play would stop before that happened.
