Has anyone heard of any candidates that are being considered for the head coaching position at Southern Local? Are any of the assistants being considered?
On a second subject: Is the Indians OCC schedule for 2010 East Palestine, Lisbon, and Toronto again?

It is now official.......Mike Skrinjar has been named the head coach at Southern. What are the thoughts of Skrinjar as the head coach? Obviously at 27 years old he will be thought by some to be too young to be the head coach. However there are a lot of very good "young" coaches out there. www.morningjournalnews.com/page/content.detail/id/515693.html?nav=5008

Prediction: Southern will once again become the laughingstock of the league. Poor choice. Very poor choice.

I know he is extremely spirited and vocal on the sidelines, but I wondered how Southern fans felt about him. I was a little surprised that he was named because I had heard another name mentioned to take over, but he must have made a positive impression on the BOE.
We certainly wish coach Skrinjar and the entire Southern Indians football team the best in 2010!

" I know he's extremely spirited and vocal on the sideline..."
That's because he wants everyone to notice him. He seems to think its ALL about him. Three years ago he was non-renewed as the boys baseball coach. Two years ago he was non-renewed as the girls basketball coach. But all of a sudden he is fit to lead the football team? It was an inside job. The other guy had no chance of landing the job. Skrinjar didn't impress anyone. He didn't have to. It was his job regardless. And those that will be most negatively impacted are the kids. Don't get me wrong, I want to see the team succeed as much as anyone. But it wont happen with this guy!

Ha,I believe he earned this job through alot of hardwork, and the team is fully behind him. The coaching staff isn 't really changing besides the title of the coaches,Ex-Head Coach Jim Brrown is still on the staff. Things are only looking up for the indians.

I would hope his staff would change, because he (Skrinjar)was stating on JJhuddle during the season that the entire staff was struggling and things needed changed from the youth program up.

Two words on Skrinjar. Train wreck. I'm not playing for him next year and a couple other kids won't either. It's hard taking orders from someone less mature than me. He just wants to be called the head coach. But the schedule sticks so we will probably win and make him look good. The talent is there to go indefeated.

Luckily my boys are graduated. I honestly wouldn't want them playing for him. He's not a bad guy to talk to but I don't think he is head coach material. It will be interesting to see how things work out.

Unfortunately we have not been able to get in touch with coach Skrinjar, but I would be interested in seeing how they are doing in the off-season workouts. And have they retained the underclassmen that had considerable playing time from last year.

From What i hear everything is going extremley smooth. The community and school is buzzing with excitement. There is a solid group in the weight room and everything is falling into place. I expect a new tough and exciting staff and group of young, passionate individuals.
