Right now, argueably the best ITCL rivalries would be: Crestview-South Range McDonald-Mineral Ridge Some other good ones: Leetonia-Lisbon Leetonia-Columbiana Wellsville-Southern Jackson-Milton-Western Reserve Springfield-Lowellville Springfield-South Range East Palestine-Columbiana Columbiana-Crestview Lisbon-United

I agree the rivalry of the Leetonia - Columbiana game is high. But changes over the years has lessened the EP - Columbiana game (although some of us "old-timers" - I'm one of those who still bleeds for this game) as a rivalry. The Columbiana - Crestview game is much more of an INTENSE rivalry now!

I agree that the South Range - Springfield and the South Range - Crestview games are "out-of-this-world" INTENSE!

Mineral Ridge's top rival games would be: (in order) McDonald (by a wide margin) South Range Springfield Crestview

I think that the SR-CView Rivalry just picked up another notch with the View winning for the first time in the last ten meetings! Already thinking about this game for next year

I'm excited to see some of the games next year. Columbiana finally got Crestview and Crestview finally got South Range so I'm sure both will have payback on their mind. EP will have a good team which should bring some of the fire back into the EP Columbiana and EP Crestview games.
I know one game I sure don't wanna miss next year is Crestview vs United. Before the stunt United pulled this year they really didn't have anything to do with each other given the distance. That will be one intense game and Crestview might not stop scoring until they hit 60.

United will be drastically improved from last year and Crestview will not be nearly as good. Cusick is a great coach and will bring the best out in his team every game but i don't think that game will be a blowout by any means. I'm sure both teams will be ready for that game. United better be if they want to prove themselves as somebody to watch out for next year.

crestview lost a lot of talent and wont have near the success that they did this season, i wouldn't single out united in this one, that sophmore qb they had last year will make games interesting and i completely disagree that it would be a blow out.

a new rivalry, Wellsville and McDonald. this really got going in week 10 in 07 when Wellsville upset McDonald and danced on their "M" in midfield, and adding to this year when Wellsville went up 12-0 early and McDonald came back and won 41-19

definetely Lowellville and Springfield, in my opinion, is still one of the best rivalries around. with these two teams just about 10-15 minutes down the road, it gets very intense

Mineral Ridge vs Mcdonald defines backyard rivalry. The schools are separated by a five minute drive at most. The schools just flat out don't like each other and it is evident in every Mineral Ridge vs. Mcdonald matchup.

It would easily have to be Columbiana/Leetonia or Columbiana- E.P. These teams have been playing high school football against each other since there WAS high school football. Crestview and S.R have really good teams, and could beat anyone on any given friday. They are very tough teams to prepair for. But if you want deep rooted, traditional, hard core football rivals that go back nearly 100 years then you know my picks.

Dogs and Clips, this rivalry has lost a little luster in the recent past, but from what I hear, this year is going to be remeniscent of the high school days of Bulldog1974 and Clipper1970....and it was reborn with the FOUL in basketball..and ensuing comments.....It's about time...this is one of the oldest rivalries in the state of Ohio, although, some years were not documented, it is locally known as the 2nd oldest and all local fans of both communities OUR age know that! For those who do not know, Ep and Columbiana have a traveling trophy which is a coveted item and is older that Clipper1970....that is the old merchant's trophy that is passed between the two schools in football and basketball...and guess where it has spent most of it's existance? EP!!!!

I agree it's died down some. When I was in school in the mid 80's, it seemed to be tamed down some from when my brother was there in the early 80's. We still got the announcement from the principal every time we played E.P or Leetonia away " don't walk around unless you have to, and if you do , go in groups of at least five". That was pretty scarey for a 15 year old kid to hear. My senior year the ONLY team we beat was Leetonia. But that was good enough for us Because we HATED them.
