I know it's early but i have gathered alot of information and here are my predictions for week one
Leetonia Bears Vs. Lisbon Blue Devils- W 21-12 Jackson-Milton Blue Jays Vs. Windham Bombers- W 14-7 Sebring Trojans Vs. Conotton Valley Rockets- L 24-14 Southern Local Indians Vs. East Palestine Bulldogs- L 35-14 Wellsville Tigers Vs. Strasburg-Franklin Tigers - W 47-21 Western Reserve Devils Vs. Mathews- W 21-7 McDonald Blue Devils Vs. Youngstown Christian Eagles- W 49-7
My reasons are as follow.
-im not putting Lowellvilles up
-Leetonia I feel will be off next year but they will be able to hold off the struggling Lisbon team. if my score prediction is correct Selway will score all three touchdowns.
-Jackson-Milton will be able to hold off the struggling Bombers but they both will have struggling offenses so i predict a low scoring game with the Blue Jays on top
-Sebring will make an attempt to win this game but they just wont have the skill Conotton Valley is not that good but they will be able to hold off the Trojans
-Southern Local. ok here is a good game both teams are looking to make an impact this year and the Bulldogs will make the bigger one. Southern had high expectations this year as do the Bulldogs but with the resignation of Coach Alex Albert Southern will not be ready I see the Bulldogs leading the entire Game.
-Wellsville wins easy. two of Strasburg-Franklin's socres will be on Wellsville's Back up's. Wellsville will come out ready trying to make an impact but when playing a team like that the impact wont be to great.
-Western Reserve. here is a great season opener. two teams with alot to prove without Mathews backfield there nothing and they will go back to being mediocre Reserve goes up 21-0 by the end of the third and the Mustangs score on Back up's
-McDonald will smash them. the Eagles lose their star Wide Reciever in Eddie Gonda. and with that McDonald sweeps them.

that's just my opinion don't take offense even with your great Backfield last year you could not compete in the playoffs. your losing a good athlete in Eric Ochletree(sp) and will not be as good as you were.

Mathews will not make it that easy for WR, you forgot that one of our 1000 yard rushers from last year is coming back... Mathews did lose some key players, but not enough to say they won't compete....
Youngstown Christian did get a transfer RB from Chaney, last nameof Smith I believe. He might make the game a little closer....

well never the less Western reserve returns alot and will be able to win with a decent marigin and one player does not make the team McDonald is very talented and will still crush the Eagles. if the RB is anydecent ill give him one TD making the score 49-14

Mathews will suprise you..... The Stangs weren't supposed to beat WR and Leetonia last year so we'll see...

Games are won and lost up front. Mathews had some very good RB's last year but they also had huge holes to run through and that's what made them so successful. They lose their stud but they do return 4 of them up front along with their most talented runner. Whether they beat Reserve or not remains to be seen but I'd be very surprised if they went back to being mediocre this season.

Mathews will suprise you..... The Stangs weren't supposed to beat WR and Leetonia last year so we'll see... you weren't supposed to beat them because no one believed in you lol. I am fairly confident that WR will still beat you up pretty bad. but hey one of the best things in life is proving people wrong. so prove me wrong if your so confidnt you will do good.

Lowellville Rockets Vs. Malvern Hornets- W 17-13 ------im from lowellville so i know coach palumbo will have lowellville ready
Leetonia Bears Vs. Lisbon Blue Devils- w 20-6 ------not sure leetonia has alot coming back but selway might be able to beat lisbon by himself
Jackson-Milton Blue Jays Vs. Windham Bombers- L 26-6 -----i dont think milton is ready to a contender yet and windham is not a bad team
Sebring Trojans Vs. Conotton Valley Rockets- W 12-0 -----Sebring is getting better every year and conotton valley is very bad
Southern Local Indians Vs. East Palestine Bulldogs- L 14-7 ----i made this a low scoring game assuming southern will still run the same offense they did last year with the new coach... they just cant seem to win the close games
Wellsville Tigers Vs. Strasburg-Franklin Tigers - W 33-6 ----strasburg has been getting worse and wellsvill hasent lost to them in year
Western Reserve Devils Vs. Mathews- W 34-12 ----mathews loses alot to graduation western reserve looks very strong
McDonald Blue Devils Vs. Youngstown Christian Eagles- W 46-0 ---again youngstown christian loses just about every starter from last year and mcdonald always seems to put a strong team on the field

Even though WR looks to be solid this year, week 1 will be a tough one for the Blue Devils. Mathews has beaten WR 3 out of 5 years.
Mathews has one of thebest backs in the area in Jackson. They also have a great line returning as well as a large lineman transfer from Ursuline.
It will really be a battle in Vienna this year - like always!

Mathews Vs. Western Reserve-past 6 years 2007 Mathews wins 28-16 WR went 6-4 2006 WR wins 44-21 2005 Mathews wins 20-14 in overtime to a 3-7 WR 2004 WR wins? with a 3-7 record 12-6 when Mathews went 7-3? Mathews is bad 2003 Mathews wins 8-6? when WR went 1-9 good for you guys 2002 WR wins 27-6 with a 3-7 record. all this points to mathews being a bad team. you only beat them with a winning record once. and you lost to them twice when they had a 3-7 record. with all this WR looks dominent when they actually have a decent team. and even when they have a bad 3-7 year they can still beat you.

I am going to say this in a nice way, Mathews is not a bad team, neither is Western Reserve. You will see what Mathews brings to the table, and hopefully shut mouths like last years team did. Someone from Lowellville that has no idea of Mathews football. You don't see anyone from Western Reserve on here running their chops, these two teams have a great deal of respect for the other, and neither one will go out and just say that one is a bad team like you just did. Hell, I'll go out on a limb, rblowellvillecb, have your Athletic Director call Mathews Athletic Director, I know hes looking to fill an opening in the schedule in one of the next two seasons. I am sure the Stangs would like to get their hands on a mediocre Lowellville team. Mediocre is being nice, so I would worry about Lowellville, not Mathews a team you know nothing about, let Western Reserve worry about Mathews.
