Just seeing who some of the top seniors are in the league this year? (1st Team ITCL, NEO, All-Ohio) Who do you expect to have a breakout season? Are any of these players getting any college looks like Vince Brown (Northwestern) and David Rach (YSU) did last year?

After having watched the South Range-Lisbon game this past Friday I must say that I was really impressed with Dana Rose. He is a horse in the backfield and seemed to push the pile very well on a sub-par team with some key injuries. Nate Schuler, from what I hear is just a beast. He might be the best player in the league bar none and its good to hear that he is back and healthy. Hertel has put up good numbers through 4 weeks and will only get better. Tony Britton had an outstanding performance this past week and the Rebs look very good with their 3-headed monster of Britton/Hill/Drewnoski. The Raiders have some talent with Jack Dawson and Steve Bensinger. The most impressive player in my mind however is Mr. A.J. Zitello of Mineral Ridge. I have never had the pleasure of watching this young man play but from what I hear and read he is just amazing. From what the Vindy said he holds numerous weight room records at the Ridge and is a fine young man. 2 questions for anyone who can answer. What is the o-line at Ridge like this year (Ht. and Wt.)? I hear they are bigger than when they won the ICL back in 2004. And secondly, Where and when did AJ transfer to the Ridge?

raiderqb95, Mineral Ridge's OLine is big (center 5'8" 180, guards 5'11 200 and 5'11 210, tackles 6'1" 270 and 6'3" 240) but, trust me, they are nowhere near the size of Roden, Lowery, Darby, and Frye. Those boys all tipped the scale at 275 and more. AJ came to Mineral Ridge his sophomore year. He never played football for the Rams until last year, his junior year.

qb, I just read your post again.......and I apoligize. I believe I was naming the linemen of the '98 ICL Championship team. Lowery, Frye, Darby, and Roden graduated in 98. I cannot recall all of the lineman on the '04 team, but the ones I can.........yes, I think this years team OLine may be as large or larger. You decide.......I took there height and weight right out of the program roster.

'Thanks for the info! Those are some big boys up front but that 98' team was huge. A few after my time but I remember those boys being monster. You guys had a tackle a couple years back with a name something like Mike Mousie (sp?). He was quiet an athlete for his size. Did he go on to play in college?

The '04 OLine at Ridge consisted of Nick Menichini, Mike Mousie, Mike Austin, Steve Matthews, and Mark Greene. None of those individuals went on to play at the next level. Menichini probably had the most talent of the group, 1st team All State Defensive Tackle.

Congrats to young Mr. Schuler. I know many fine young men attending the University of Akron from various ITCL schools and they love it up there. It is a fine campus with a great education to offer. He must be excited after that game on saturday. Go Zips, Boo Flashes. Is he being recruited to play off. of def.? I know he is a phenomenal QB but he might be even better off at the next level as an OLB or a safety because he is one hell of a hitter. He could be up for MVP of the upper tier but the team record doesn't reflect that. That is just a shame, but as a South Range fan my vote would go to Nate as the MVP and best player in the league. Where did his brother, Andrew end up going to school?
