I was just reading an article on the Vindicator web site that says their is a very hot rumor going around that Mathews and Youngstown Christian may replace Wellsville and Southern Local in the Lower Tier.
If there is truth to this rumor, I cannot see Mathews making this move unless they are guaranteed to be in the Lower Tier....
If you would eliminate Wellsville and Southern from the league, the Tiers would look like this:
Tier #1 United 194 South Range 172 Crestview 168 East Palestine 160 Lisbon 153 Mineral Ridge 146 Mathews 134 Columbiana 128
Tier #2 Springfield 127 McDonald 117 Jackson-Milton 113 Western Reserve 111 Leetonia 100 Sebring 100 Lowellville 99 Youngstown Christian 53

With gas at $4 a gallon, I can't say I would be disappointed to see all the traveling done away with. However, if we're not in the ITCL, then who are we going to play that would decrease all the mileage? It's very hard to schedule games as an independent...especially once league games begin.
