Football regular season still has a couple weeks worth of games. Most ITCL BBall teams are having open gym.
What are your predictions for this years ITCL Basketball Battle both Upper Tier and Lower Tier?

Columbiana has several players showing up for open gym. I think the boys are having fun!

Tonight I'll discuss the 'dogs of East Palestine
I think the Bulldogs should have an awesome team coming back. Good shooters, height--ok, good ball movement, they had a nice JV team last year and their coaching--the tops in the ITCL. They will be hard to beat.
Does anyone have any additional comments about the 'dogs?

A very good program and excellent staff that is respected in the area.

They also get a lot of players out.

Over the past couple weeks the Clippers have had a lot of boys at open gym---most of them are freshmen but several upper classmen too. Due to an "early-out" in Football (unusual for the Clippers) we will be able to get some football players playing with the round ball earlier than expected this year. Maybe that will be an advantage?

One team that needs watched is South Range, they seemed to have a little surge in basketball last season. United might be another to watch also, very competetive in the past.

Look for E Palestine to repeat again. Too much talent and size. Coaching is one of the best in Youngstown Area.

Granted the Dogs are the favorite again and have an excellent staff, but I see South Range as a team to be watched. Springfield? Well, we shall see, but watch SR. I do think the Dogs will get a repeat, but not run the table this time.

McDonald will run the table in the lower tier.

I sure hope McDonald runs the table, but its only going to get tougher! They have won 43 straight regular season games, dating back to the 2008 team, the target is on their back. Look for Southern to be a big contender along with the Villes.

I have changed my mind int he past couple weeks. I'm going to agree with a couple posters and go project South Range as "the team to beat". They have a height advantage over all ITCL Upper Tier teams and some good ball handlers.
I also think Springfield will "outdo" EP. ........for all you bulldog fans out there, you guys are still going to have an awesome team, just not the team from the last couple years! This is just my opinion.
I guess we'll see shortly---games are starting this week!
