Ninth week of the football season and we have a game that is VERY unpredictable:
Mineral Ridge Rams (5-3) who beat United local Golden Eagles handily last week and Columbiana Clippers (4-4) who handled Springfield Local Tigers in a much anticipated game.
What are your predictions for this weeks contest at Firestone Park Stadium in Columbiana this Friday night?

Last week the Rams ran all over the Eagles and the Eagles passes all over the Rams.......the Clippers are decent at stopping the run and "so-so" against the pass. I wonder what the Rams will do this week?
Cal Preps Project a Matchup says: Columbiana (OH) 31, Mineral Ridge (OH) 30
THIS SHOULD BE A GOOD GAME!!!!!
Oh, I'll be on the field for this one!

Columbiana is going to have thier hands full trying to contain not only Skiba but thier entire backfield if they're healthy. A couple backs were hobbling a little bit by the end of the game against United...and I wouldn't exactly say the game was one sided. We clearly couldn't stop the run and they couldn't stop the pass. You could see after a couple possions each that it was going to come down to who made the fewest mistakes. Turnovers in the red zone killed United's chances. United not having a short yardage game puts alot of pressure on the QB to make plays inside the opponents 10 yard line and Ridge was up to the challenge and made a beautiful pick midway thru the fourth with Ridge up by 2 pts. Columbiana will need to establish some long drives and mix it up a bit with Barbatos short passes. Skiba is a special player, all over the field. Be very wary of throwing over the middle with him. He closes really fast and has a real nose for the ball. Should be a great game.

It has amazed me the previous six years or so how coach Spaite has designed a game-plan to shut down the Ridge offensive weapons. A few years ago it was Zitello, and I think the Clips held him to less than 100 yards and won. It will be interesting to see if Skiba can get around the pressure D of the Clippers.

Very true...and if their is a coach that can come up with a scheme, it's Spaite. I guess as a United fan i should be rooting for the Clips to take this game. We still have a slim chance at the post season and a Ridge loss would likely knock them out of contention.

Oh yeah, 7-4 and finished 4th in the league. Not bad for a team that was supposed to dominate! (ITCL Web Page: yep, please no personal attacks.)

I know I'm speaking to a mental midget here, but how are the dogs this year? What happened to competing for the league title??? In fact, how were they last year? Oh yeah, 7-4 and finished 4th in the league. Not bad for a team that was supposed to dominate! You, much like your program are pathetic! The mental midget apparently is you YEP, Dog made a good statement and you take off with it with your bad mouthing.

Getting back to Topic - I like Ridge by a slim margin in this one. Not sure exactly why but at 4-1 in league play I just feel they will find a way to grind this one out.

Columbiana has not won a game all year vs a team that has a winning record....someting to think about... That is a good point! Hopefully that will change this week.....if not, oh well...I'll be routing for the Ridge in week 10 (to do what the Clips could not!)....... but I have a good feeling about this one for the Clippers! It's up to the "BOYS ON THE FIELD".....I'll be one of your fans in the stands on Friday night at Firestone Park Stadium!!!!! Go Clips!!!!!
