DOES WELLSVILLE NEED A NEW COACH ? Be careful with this post greenhead, your headed toward a slippery slope on this one. Try to refrain from any bashing of players or coaches.

I don't think Wellsville needs a new coach Dave Skinner is a fine coach and knows the game. Right now Wellsville is going through a time where the athletes would rather knucklehead around with their buddies, doing whatever, rather than having pride and working hard to represent their school. I just don't want to pick on the Tigers here either, because I believe a lot of schools are having this same problem. What makes it bad at a small school like Wellsville you almost have to have all the athletes play at least two sports to be competitive. X-Box has and is destroying a lot of kids ambition to get up off the couch and participate in sports. You might scoff at what I'm saying but deep in your heart you know its true, there are kids roaming the halls that would help these schools but they just don't want to bother putting in the work for it.

I do agree that there are a lot of athletes roaming the halls that just don't want to play anymore but I do think that there are a lot of good boys on the team that work their butts off.
I can say with a great deal of certainty that the only way my son would sit out is if there was a bone sticking out of his leg and then he would still argue with you that he is good to go on the field.
We have a lot of young players this year but they don't ever quit, they keep playing until that last whistle blows, they just need more experience at the high school level. My son graduates this year but I will still be in the stands next year rooting them on, I have had the good fortune of getting to know these boys and they will not disappoint as they grow.
I grew up in Texas and football is life down there, I am a firm believer that schools should REQUIRE every student to participate in at least one extracurricular activity.
Climbing down off my soapbox now.... thanks for a place to get up on it.

The Tigers have a GREAT tradition! They just need to get things "clicking" again!

Knowing that there are a number of talented freshmen on the team, I would encourage the "powers that be" to see how things progress over the next two years or so.

Feeding Elliot saved Skinner his job. Although his actions throughout the season might have already cost him the job. The administration was embarrassed by a few of coach Skinners antics both on the field and conduct during practices. If coach Skinner keeps his job it will be outof his records from the past and contacts made.
