Should be a real slugfest but I think Crestview wins it in the 4th Qtr. Columbiana needs to play their best game of the year. I have to go with the reigning Champs.

The Rebels usually have the Clippers number--maybe this week it'll be different.
We'll see Friday night at Rebel Stadium.

This ought to be a real dandy. Columbiana is another team that always seems to have very effective LB's that are disciplined and good tacklers. Both teams seem to be very balanced offensively. I like what i have seen in the Columbiana QB. A real dual threat. Two outstanding QB's going at it again. Crestview's line isn't big buy any means but very quick off the ball. I liked the D-ends for them, very effective. Another game that may come down to special teams and the kicking game. Crestview has a dynamite special teams player, #19. Kid is faster than lightning and a real nose for the ball.

If Hill doesn't play better throwing the ball than he has the last two weeks Crestview will lose this game.
I overheard someone in the stands last week make the comment that they run all over people then decide to throw the ball and throw an interception. The feeling last week was maybe Daddy Dearest is coaching more for a Scolarship than a win. (Ever see him give up the ball inside the 10? teams will catch on)
BTW....8 TD and 6 INT at the HS level is not elite.
Slam this post all you want but if your watching the games you have been thinking the same thing.

I agree to a point. I think that we do need to pass to keep teams off balance. When we commit to running the ball, we have good success. But when we throw too much, our line does not seem to get into a good flow and it hurts us when we do run. I do agree that we are throwing too much inside the 20. We left points on the board week 1 and it cost us the game. When we come out fired up and run(like the 1st drive of the second half against United) we seem to have good success. Also, there needs to be a change in whoever is in charge of our pass defense(or lack thereof).

I don't quite understand the knock on Hill's ability to throw. He's thrown for what nearly 500 yards in the last 2 games? Sure he threw a few picks, but United's secondary is not exactly chopped liver. There the same athletes that are the bulk of thier receiving corp. I checked the stats Hill was like 12-17 passing. Pretty d**n good for a high school QB. I will agree on the passing inside the 20 if thats been the trend, especially with Crestviews ability to run. You really compress the field and it makes it extremely difficult when you send 3-4 receivers criss-crossing the middle. It makes it alot easier for the defense to keep everything in front of you. As for the Crestview secondary, I don't think they played that bad at all. In most cases the receivers were covered well. The one play that really sticks out to me was the long TD pass for United. It was single coverage and the defender had him blanketed. That pass hit the receiver on the dead run. I don't see how that could have been defended any better. I really don't think Crestview is going to face another QB with McLaughlin's downfield accuracy until they reach the playoffs. ...and thats not a knock on any other ITCL QB, it's just reality.

I would point out too, and coach Cusick mentioned it in his post-game comments, that the Rebel receivers did not run very good routes, and did not come back to the ball aggresively on those two picks. So some of the blame for the interceptions last Friday can be shared with the receiving corps.

Man, and here I am lookin for Carter to run the ball more!!!Smash mouth football, ball controll, no hudle ,come at ya all night! Pass when you have to. I don't think the play callin for the Rebels has bin to bad,ITCL CHAMPS 2 years in a row....somebody's callin the correct plays! It will be Crestviews "D" that I think wins this game. You can't go up and down the field like the South Range/Columbiana game did. If you do... anything can happen. You have to make stops and get turn overs by your "D" or it will be a long game.
