I didn't see a thread on the EP-Crestview game, but major credit to the Rebels. They totally dominated a good EP team. EP is not going anywhere unless they do something with that defense. What are everyones thoughts? Did EP get exposed as nothing more than an above average team? From what I saw it looked like crestview would beat EP 19/20 times if they played.

I don't know if I would count out EP just yet. I think CR just mentally prepared better for the game.

I don't know how you could say CR was just more mentally prepared than EP, they took EP too the woodshed in every facet of the game. CR dominated EP and made them look average at best on friday. Good luck to both teams the rest of the way. Hopefully a rematch will occur in the playoffs and I know that both Coach Q and Coach S will have their kids ready mentally, it will be about talent when they play on the field!

Crestview played flawless friday night, you don't think that starts with being mentally prepaired? believeing you can win is half the battle.

I totally agree they were better mentally prepared. They are used to playing in big time games, EP, not so much. I was just saying that CR was more dominant in every aspect of the game, and I believe it wouldn't have mattered who was more mentally prepared between the two, CR would take EP to the woodshed 9 outta 10 times because they are just a better team.

And Columbiana would beat Crestview 9 outta 10 times. Just go look at the stats from the game. Columbiana dominated everywhere but on the scoreboard! ;D

That maybe so that Col would beat CR 9 outta 10 times, but they only play once a year, and well, CR won that meeting so I guess we will wait for next year to visit that theory

I like the poll this week " who will go and support the rebels friday hight" . Are you kidding me ? I remember going to the regional playoff game in 2005, driving over an hour on one of the coldest nights I can remember at a game. We played with most of our team injured or with the flu. Mike Welse was throwing up on the field between plays, Mackie Mcgeary , our leading tackler, was on the sideline with a broken ankle from the previous week, and the rest of the team was just as beat up. We lost that night to Stubenville Catholic, who refused to shake our kids hands at the end of the game, they just went straight to the locker room after the final second ran off the clock. And through all of that the thing thing I remember the most about that night was when I was walking back to my car. I saw an old yellow van with a great big CR symbol painted on the side with a sereis of train style air horns bolted on the roof. The driver was holding the horns on celebrating the loss of the Cippers to a team that nobody had heard of before that week because they had kept us out of the semi-finals. There were plenty of black and yellow shirts on the other side of the field that night, hoping for a columbiana loss because we had already made it a week longer than they had. So I think if I do make an appearance this friday night, It would have to be on the Ursline side....Sorry rebs

Wow, you guys are bitter rivals aren't you? Reguardless, I think it is important for the league on a whole to get recognition by winning these big games. I would encourage all ITCL fans to root the Rebels to show what a tough league the ITCL is.
Personnaly, I've been sick as a dog all week with a stomach virus so my status for Friday is very, very iffy. However......
GO REBELS!!!

I agree,
You can't judge Crestview as a whole from a few fans, there were some CR fans at Columbiana's game vs Shadyside rooting for the clippers, some of them even went down to the field after to congradulate them for a good season.

I also remember a playoff game in 2006 where there were alot of EP players sitting on the Columbiana side. My family talked with one of the EP's families that sat next to us for the whole game. I remember one of the kids saying he was a freshman there and they should have a really good team in about 2 years. Well he was a year off but last friday I sat on the EP side thinking of him and wondering if he was still playing for EP knowing he would be a senior and it might be his last game ever. Anyway, making a short story long, I did go and support the ITCL last friday, and saturday, and chances are I will again this friday. I do know what you mean about a few fans, It happens everywhere I guess.

When an ITCL team is playing someone from another league, and ITCL fans are there rooting for the other team, 9 times out of 10 they don't care who wins, They're just there looking for trouble.
Anyhow, good luck to the Rebels tonight. Me & my family will be rooting for them tonight. Which by the way, my son was a Clipper Senior this year.
It was fun posting with all of you, but it's time to move on. Something ends, and something new will begin.
Good luck to all of the teams in the ITCL in the future. On and off the field.

Good Luck tonight against the University of Ursuline. This will be a level of ball the Rebels have not seen. If by chance, and an almost non existant chance, the Rebels win, it would be an extreme statement about ITCL ball. Ep couldn't do it, Range couldn't do it, and not much chance for C-view in '09. And no I am not being sarcastic!
