Ridge could surprise some people next year. Joe Stevens is a proven coach and pretty much the entire team is returning next year, as the Rams started a handful of sophomores and juniors this past year. Also Zach Kiger who split time at QB his sophomore year with Joe Miller would have been the starting QB last season had he not got hurt in a scrimmage last year and missed the entire season. Not saying they will win the league, but don't be surprised if they are right in the thick of things come weeks 9 and 10 next year.

How are workouts going?
A good question is how many kids at your school have hit the 1000lb club? (bench, squat, clean)
Remember "The will to win means nothing, the will to prepare means everything"
My Predicted Order of Finish for 09'
1)Crestview 2)East Palestine 3)South Range 4)THE U 5)Columbiana 6)Springfield 7)Ridge 8)Lisbon

I doubt there is to many kids who can do 1000 lbs in the squat, clean, and bench. Your looking at 300 bench 300 clean and a 400 squat. maybe theres some who can do it with a deadlift instead of the clean. there was plenty of these kids who hit this mark at the columbiana powermeet. I was impressed by the improvements by United & E.P. to their overall team strength. Don't be surprised if these teams make a good run this year

I agree both teams had a low number of kids, and yet they both did pretty good for overall weight

New enrollment figures to be out sometime next week. Will anyone drop or move up a division?

Most people I'm sure will pick Cview, SR, and Col as the top three based on recent history. Like most people, I like those three as well, but all teams will be very competetive. EP can sneak into this group over the course if they prove they can finish games!! They had all three of these teams on the rope this past season but just couldn't get it done. I know the pups return a lot of players next year from an already dangerous team. No team will take them lightly especially with Peterson and Co back, but until they prove they can close out games, they won't be an 'elite' team. Range loses Dawson but I think Miller will be just fine and the loss of Gause and Razo hurts but their season will hinge on the developement of the line play and their D over the offseason. Cview will b hit hard by graduation, but like SR has proven to re-load. Spaite will have his boys ready as usual and can't be written off either. Springfield and Coach G are starting to build a program but I feel they will be in the middle of the pack. United is always a wildcard and has Ryan Phillis back who is just a flatout playmaker. Mineral Ridge will have a tall task in front of them but return almost everyone like EP does and Lisbon will struggle again next season, but I like what the new coach is doing and think he has the program headed in the right direction. No real predictions yet, but I will throw this out there: 1-4 (In no real order) SR, View, Col, Ep 5-8 (In no real order) SP, the U, MR, Lisbon
