The rumor mill in North Lima for the last couple of years has been that the 2008 season could be Coach Dan Yeagley's last season at the helm of the Raiders. Many people have speculated that he may move on to bigger and better things, as many colleges have approached him over the years. Yeagley has publicy stated that he would love to remain at his alma mater and live in the area he grew up in, however, with his youngest son graduating this year from South Range, what are his chances of leaving? Dan Zolek has stepped down as the AD at SR to pursue other oppurtunities, and Offensive Coordinator/QB coach Wayne Allegretto takes over as the new AD. This is just some of the talk that I have heard from other community members, I for one do not believe it and hope he stays here in North Lima with his wife and family. It would be ashame to lose a great assest not only to SR but the whole community as well. Once again, just a rumor, I just wanted to hear what other people might have to say on this situation.

First raiderqb, I would caution against any type of rumors. But with that being said, I recently spoke to coach Yeagley about the 2008 version of the Raiders as part of a preview. He spoke about the fun he was having this summer, and the atmosphere at South Range which he explained as unique from most schools. Over half of the school's 200+ students take part in a Friday night (football team, band, cheerleaders), and roughly 2/3 of the school is involved in some type of activity (Football, band, cheerleading, volleyball, cross country, golf) in the fall. I would be VERY surprised if coach Yeagley would leave South Range at this time. He is very good at what he does, but I think he is a high school coach, not a college coach. I would point to the success of Steve Spurrier at college, but not in the pros. Hopefully the ITCL will continue to have coaches like Yeagley, Cusick, Kopachy, Williams, and many others for years to come.
