Alright who's going to be the teams that step up. I think that Lowellville is the team to beat. They opened against Springfield and looked like they have not skipped a beat from last year.

It's that time of year to get out the round ball and shoot some hoops. Anyone going to challenge Lowellville girls this year. I see they picked up Canfield this year and they are playing in the PENN STATE BEAVER CHRISTMAS Toury. Plus they will be playing Howland on the 21st of Nov in a foundation game at Lowellville. Should make for an interesting season. Good luck and stay healthy.

Big60, do you know how many starters are back for the Rockets? I know they where an outstanding team the past two years and were fairly young, but I don't remember how many they graduated.

They did not graduate anyone. They have all their starters back and healthy. If you remember they lost one to an acl injury in Dec. and another in the district toury. Should be an interesting season.

Attended the foundation game at Lowellville against Howland last night saw a good game by both teams. Howland won by ten points. Both teams had good games overall. Nice to see Lowellville keep it close against a good D1 school who had a definite height advanage. All of Howlands starters were taller than the tallest Lowellville starter. Three point shooting was a little off for both teams, but that could be expected this early in the season.

Another up date on girls side of lower tier. It appears that McDonald has joined Sebring in not having a girls J.V. team this year. These were two good programs in the past, you have to wonder what has happened to change that. It's sad to see this happen.

Lowellville opened up last night against Springfield. Lowellville won 59-21 and the game was not as close as the score would show. It was 16-1 at end of first quarter, 34-11 at half and 48-12 at the end of third when all the starters were done for the night. Lowellville was rotating eight girls in and out for the first three quarters, then let the subs play the entire fourth quarter. Their shooting still looked a little rusty, but their intensity and hard nose defense looked very strong.

I realize your thread is about the Lower Tier, however last night I had the chance to check out the girls Upper Tier game between Crestview and United.
Looks like United will win the Upper Tier as I think South Range is 2 games back with only a handful of games to be played.
Someone I sat with last night said that after seeing Lowellville, that the Rockets would dominate the Upper Tier if they played in it. Interesting food for thought.

I have no doubt about that. Lowellville's team is the real deal. They have three girls that already have scored a 1000 points. And two Juniors may reach that goal next year. The Vindy reported that they are the first team in history in Ohio to have three 1000 point girls playing on one team. If you get a chance go see them.
